Video (quote by Tina Stefanou):

“Downslide got me immediately on first listen. I was hesitant to make a video for music—it’s so easy for them to become branding exercises, packaging the track into a marketable object. But I couldn’t resist the call to respond to this song, and to Lisa’s heart-pulling lyrics. I drew from Teorema, Pasolini’s 1968 film in which a mysterious, beautiful stranger enters a bourgeois household and wordlessly seduces each family member—only to disappear, leaving them transformed, unravelled, undone. Like in Teorema, something in Downslide pierces the domestic, the known. The song became the stranger. A visitation.

We shot the video out in Wattle Glen, with Wil Normyle behind the lens. Lisa—buried in dirt and rock—cried while singing. A disembodied face, grounded in the changing light. A figure running to nowhere, searching for the absent guest, or maybe trying to escape the inescapable self. The video isn’t narrative. It’s an atmosphere that never ends.”
