[cable warming under load]

Taking the backgammon board as a starting point, 𝘔𝘰𝘵𝘦𝘵 𝘍𝘢𝘪𝘭 asks how we meet one another, and what we risk in the process.

“[𝘤𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳 𝘭𝘰𝘢𝘥] is a hybrid object: the civic body and its infrastructural mechanisms, the pressure of voices for/against state actions, a sun dial, a backgammon piece, and a portal to the City of Brotherly Love, Philadelphia, the founding city, a ‘sanctuary city’, where my lover lives - here, compressed in earth.”

Two concrete pieces from large-scale installation Motet Fail at West Space. Made permanent at Collingwood Yards, Naarm/Melbourne
